Though you haven't seen many postings, I've been doing a LOT of t-shirt designs recently. This one I was approached with a few weeks ago and it was one of those projects I couldn't wait to work on.
Every year, TAMUCC does a Relay for Life event. This year, the Student Nurses Association approached me about doing a t-shirt for them to coincide with their theme. The theme for the overall event this year is 'Rocking Through the Ages.' So the officers of the SNA decided to slick their hair back and go with a Grease theme.
After a bit of playing around and sketching I came up with this tee. Of the organizations I have designed for in the past, this is probably one of my favorite t-shirt designs. Needless to say, I will defiantly be adding this one to my closet.

Can't Win Them All
Recently, I worked with the Corpus Christi IceRays on a pitch to bring the Robertson to the Coastal Bend. For those of you who don't know, the Robertson Cup is to the NAHL as the Stanley Cup is to the NHL. Each year, there is host city selected....sort of like how the Final Four in NCAA Basketball.
My part was to design the logo for the tournament (if it came to Corpus Christi). This was the first logo of its kind that I've ever has the chance to design. The biggest difficulty was attempting to match the style of the logo to match the rest of league.
Each graphic design has it's own niches and style, just like a chef cooks a certain type of food or an author writes in a particular way. In an odd way, I had a lot of fun working on this logo. Though it kept me up to late, it was a big challenge that I enjoyed taking on.
The other challenge with this one was incorporating a wide variety of elements into one cohesive logo. I had to include the name of the event, the cup itself, dates, plus, a touch of Corpus Christi.
Unfortunately, the IceRays didn't win the bid, so the only place you'll be seeing this logo is right here, but it definitely one of those projects I had fun doing.

Better The Second Time Around
Part of my undertakings sometimes consist of revisions of previous work. For example (like the one below) taking a logo and making it better, changing the color or just cleaning it up. I've even done things like replicating baby shower invites...but that's a whole other story.
In the Fall of 2010, the Student Nursing Association at TAMUCC approached me about designing some t-shirts as well as tweaking their current logo. You can see some of those t-shirts right here.
As for the logo, originally, it was pretty bulky and just needed an updated touch. They didn't want anything drastic, just something fresh. You can see the finished product below. Though it's not a dramatic update or 'earth' shattering design, it's easy to see the improvement.
The new logos I've been working on are well on their way and will be making their debut very soon!
